STS Alum is Promoted in Front of Brevard College Football Team

BREVARD, N.C. (WLOS) — Brevard College assistant football coach Randy Finley was promoted Friday night in a special ceremony ahead of Veterans Day.
Finley, a 16-year member of the military, was promoted to U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant, and the entire Tornados football team was there to see it happen.
"To actually have the ceremony, and do it with my Marine family, Gunnery Sgt. Hernandez and I have known each other for over 10 years, and to marry football and my love for the Marine Corps together has been phenomenal," Finley said.
Finley came to Brevard College as part of the Soldiers To Sidelines program, which connects service members with community youth programs.
His players now plan to call him Coach Gunny.
