MEET THE INSTRUCTORS
Harrison Bernstein is the founder and Executive Director of Soldiers To Sidelines (STS), a non-profit organization that helps the military community become character-based sports coaches in their communities. After resigning from coaching professional football, he dedicated himself fully to the STS mission. Harrison has coached football and sports performance at the NFL, NCAA Division I, II, III, and high school levels. He taught in the master's program of Exercise Science at George Washington University for seven years. A graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a BA in Economics, he was captain of the football team, earned All-American honors for three years, and was named Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 1997. He authored "The Everyday Coach: Harnessing the Magic of Influence," providing it free to STS Soldier Coaches and donating all profits to STS. Harrison lives in Lewes, DE, with his wife, Laura Olendeski, and their son, Keturi Bernstein.
Scott Urick is the head coach of Prep’s varsity lacrosse team, appointed on July 8, 2016. During his tenure, the team has won three IAC Championships and achieved top rankings in the DMV and nationally, including a #1 DMV and #4 national ranking in 2023. He has coached four USA Lacrosse All-Americans and was named USA Lacrosse Coach of the Year in 2023.
Before Prep, Urick was the first head lacrosse coach at the University of the District of Columbia and served as an assistant at Georgetown for eleven years, contributing to multiple top-10 national finishes.
A standout player, Urick captained Georgetown's teams in 1999 and 2000, becoming the all-time leading goal scorer. He played nine seasons in Major League Lacrosse, retiring as the third all-time leading scorer, and led Team USA to a silver medal in the 2006 World Lacrosse Championships.
Urick graduated from Georgetown in 2000 with a B.A. in Government and is a member of several athletic hall of fames.
Ryan Wellner enters his sixth season at Notre Dame as an assistant coach for 2024-25, overseeing defense and recruiting. Hired in 2019, he helped lead the Irish to back-to-back national championships in 2023 and 2024, and the 2024 ACC regular-season and tournament titles. Under his guidance, Notre Dame’s defense earned 17 All-America honors, and in 2023 he was named DI Assistant Coach of the Year. The Irish ranked first nationally in scoring defense in 2024, allowing just 8.94 goals per game.
Before Notre Dame, Wellner spent eight years at the Naval Academy, where he developed one of the nation’s top defenses and helped produce multiple All-Americans. He also coached at Stony Brook, Washington & Lee, and Stevens Institute of Technology.
A 2000 graduate of Mary Washington College, Wellner and his wife, Kate, have three children: Griffin, MacGregor, and Ashley.
Will Corrigan joined the Air Force Academy Lacrosse Team as an Assistant Coach in 2023. Corrigan comes to USAFA by way of Harvard where he served as the Assistant Offensive Coordinator, Faceoff Coordinator, and Riding Coordinator.
Corrigan oversaw the Harvard ride that finished the season ranked third in the nation after holding opponents to a .789 clear percentage in 2023 and ranked fourth in the nation in 2022 Corrigan helped usher in the new era of Harvard Men's Lacrosse in 2022 after he helped lead the team to an 8-4 regular season record which secured the team its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2014.
Under his leadership, the Crimson dominated the transition game, holding opponents to the fourth-worst clearing percentage in the nation. In his role as an assistant offensive coordinator, Corrigan helped coach three All-Ivy league players in Sam King, Owen Gaffney, and Andrew Perry. Coach Corrigan oversaw the faceoff unit, which saw an improvement every season under his leadership.
