WHAT DOES "HIGH HUMAN" MEAN?
Hear from Soldiers to Sidelines Founder & CEO, Harrison Bernstein, about why the human side of coaching matters in every sport.
*Prior Coaching Experience Not Required to Attend
WHAT ARE HIGH HUMAN SKILLS?
You've probably heard them called soft skills. We don't think there's anything soft about them.
High Human Skills are the abilities that help us understand people, build relationships, communicate effectively, and create environments where individuals and teams can perform at their best.
They help us turn what we know about the game into coaching that actually reaches people.
COMMUNICATION THAT MOVES PEOPLE
Explore proven communication strategies that help us motivate, empower, teach, and build strong, lasting relationships.
EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
Understand how emotions can deepen our awareness of ourselves, others, and the game—and shape the way we respond, connect, and lead.
HIGHER HUMAN PERFORMANCE
Explore what helps people perform at their best by understanding the psychological, emotional, and relational factors that influence how we think, respond, and perform.
LEADERSHIP & TEAM DYNAMICS
Understand how people learn, how leadership shapes behavior, and how the relationships within a team influence growth, culture, and performance.
This seminar explores these skills through sciences including performance psychology, sports psychology, and learning theory.
Every Sport Is Different. But Every Coach Leads People.
A football coach and a soccer coach teach completely different games. But both have to earn trust, communicate expectations, give feedback, motivate athletes, respond to pressure, and help people improve.
That's why High Human Coaching is sport-agnostic.
You'll leave better prepared to:
- Communicate with intention
Make your message clearer and become more aware of how it's received. - Understand and influence athletes
Explore how psychology, motivation, emotion, and relationships affect performance. - Teach instead of simply tell
Turn what you know into coaching another person can understand and apply. - Build environments where people can develop
Use trust, expectations, feedback, and relationships more intentionally.
One Certification. Every Sport.
The High Human Coaching Certification Seminar is for eligible members of the military community who are:
- Already coaching and want to strengthen the human side of their practice.
- Interested in becoming a coach and want a strong foundation before stepping onto the sidelines.
- Still working toward STS certification after registering for a previous seminar but were unable to attend.
Because High Human Coaching isn't tied to one sport, you don't have to wait for your particular sport to come around again.
And yes—the skills go beyond sports.
High Human Skills are relationship skills. What you develop as a coach can also influence how you communicate, lead, teach, and connect at work, at home, and in your community.
But here, we learn them through coaching.

WHAT OUR ALUMNI ARE SAYING
"This program reminded me that service doesn’t end when the uniform comes off. Coaching allows us to continue leading, mentoring, and making a difference. I’m proud to be a Soldier Coach, and I highly recommend Soldiers to Sidelines to any veteran or service member looking for their next calling."
- Coach Marc Taylor
"Soldiers to Sidelines is a powerful and purposeful experience. As a military veteran, I’ve always valued service, structure, and leadership but this seminar helped me see how those same values translate into coaching. It gave me a renewed sense of purpose and reminded me that I can still make an impact, just in a different uniform."
- Coach Amanda Mayweather
""For any veteran who is interested in coaching, STS is the way to go. This program has support from major sponsors, successful coaches, and sports professionals at all levels. The love and appreciation for veterans is overwhelming, along with the drive to positively impact kids and our communities. "
