MEET THE INSTRUCTORS

Johannah brings over 15 years of diverse coaching experience in high school, collegiate, and private sectors. Currently serving as a Contract Strength & Conditioning Specialist for the Army at Fort Liberty, she holds a Master's in Exercise Science with a concentration in Strength & Conditioning from George Washington University. There, she was the Metabolism & Exercise Testing Laboratories Coordinator and an Adjunct Faculty member. In the private sector, she has been an Assistant Sports Performance Director and a football combine coach. In 2013, Johannah launched the inaugural Strength & Conditioning program at Marymount University, overseeing a weight room renovation and training 12 teams independently. Her passion for sports performance, teamwork, and discipline drives her commitment to lifelong learning and inspiring coaching in the strength and conditioning field.  

Harrison Bernstein is the founder and Executive Director of Soldiers To Sidelines (STS), a non-profit organization that helps the military community become character-based sports coaches in their communities. After resigning from coaching professional football, he dedicated himself fully to the STS mission. Harrison has coached football and sports performance at the NFL, NCAA Division I, II, III, and high school levels. He taught in the master's program of Exercise Science at George Washington University for seven years. A graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a BA in Economics, he was captain of the football team, earned All-American honors for three years, and was named Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 1997. He authored "The Everyday Coach: Harnessing the Magic of Influence," providing it free to STS Soldier Coaches and donating all profits to STS. Harrison lives in Lewes, DE, with his wife, Laura Olendeski, and their son, Keturi Bernstein.

Jennifer S. Baker has led Johns Hopkins Athletics to unprecedented success, including five national championships, 53 conference titles—with a record 15 in the 2023-24 season—and consecutive Learfield Directors’ Cup victories in 2022-23 and 2023-24. Previously, Baker served as Senior Associate Director of Athletics at Johns Hopkins, overseeing daily operations and launching the Blue Jays LEAD program to develop leadership skills among student-athletes. Before that, she was Senior Manager of Corporate Real Estate, Facilities, and Operations at Under Armour. At Cornell University, she served as Associate Director of Athletics for Facilities and founded the Big Red Leadership Institute for over 500 student-athletes. Baker graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a degree in aerospace engineering. She served seven years in the Navy as a pilot and facilities engineer. She earned an MBA and an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell. Baker comes from a family of Johns Hopkins alumni, including her father, uncle, and grandfather.
